LIVE: Slough Town vs Maidstone United

Good afternoon,

Slough Town return to action at Arbour Park this afternoon after two tough defeats on the road at Salisbury City and Weston-super-Mare over the past week.

The Rebels have faced all sorts of hurdles so far this season with a crippling injury list throwing Scott Davies' inexperienced squad straight into the thick of it.

There are some returning faces in the matchday squad today, including centre half Reiss Greenidge. Will that provide the much-needed boost Slough need?

Full time: Slough Town 1-4 Maidstone United. A trademark Scott Davies free-kick gave Rebels' fans hope early in the second half but, in truth, this was a comfortable win for George Elokobi's side. The visitors were clinical with their chances and made Slough pay for some slack defending. The Rebels slip into the relegation zone after 13 games. Work to do.

'90: Six minutes of added time.

'83: Goal. Slough Town 1-4 Maidstone United. In answer to that question, no they can't. Slough get themselves in a right mess as Dan Roth is caught on the ball and leaves his backpass short for Desbois. The ball squirms to Jephte Tanga who makes no mistake. Scott Davies smashes the ball into the net in frustration.

'80: Ten minutes to go and Maidstone have really taken the sting out of this game. Can the Rebels find something to set up a frantic finale?

'73: John Gilbert ever the wind-up merchant is involved in a dispute with Tyrese Dyce. Gilbert falls to the floor, and referee Dan England delves into his pocket but it's just yellow.

'70: Third change for Slough. Josh Adepoju replaces Tyrique Clarke.

'60: Goal. Slough Town 1-3 Maidstone United. Slough looked to have wrestled back momentum, until Maidstone hit them with a clinical counter attack. The ball is pulled back for Antony Papadopoulos who rifles past Desbois.

'53: Game on! It's all happening here. Wiktor Makowski wins a free kick with a dangerous run in behind. Slough are calling for a red card but it's only yellow. The free-kick falls firmly in the Scott Davies sphere and well, you know the rest...

'46: Back underway. Tyrese Dyce has replaced Reiss Greenidge for the Rebels with Peter Ojemen moving inside to play centre half alongside Scott Davies. Jared Myers is also on for Brian Nelson. Another former Rebel is on for Maidstone in Lexus Beeden.

Half time: Slough Town 0-2 Maidstone United. Slough have competed with their Kent visitors but two close-range finishes from John Gilbert leave them with plenty of work to do to salvage something. If the Rebels are to get back into this, you suspect it will come through Makowski or Walker who have posed a threat in behind.

'43: Most of Slough's good work has come from the right wing through Harvey Walker. He drives at his full back again and drives in a cross which is turned behind by Harness.

'34: Slough win a free-kick right on the edge of the penalty area but Jaiden Drakes-Thomas' pull back doesn't quite fall for Johnny Goddard. Dan Roth has also been in the wars after a coming together with Maidstone's Jehte Tanga. The full back seemed to be complaining of losing a tooth. That one will hurt...

'30: Slough have a real hill to climb now. Its been an even contest but two poachers' finishes from Gilbert have put the visitors firmly in the ascendancy.

'24: Goal. Slough Town 0-2 Maidstone United. It's a second for John Gilbert as he prods home inside the six-yard box. Not a happy return for Rebels fans.

'20: Goal. Slough Town 0-1 Maidstone United. John Gilbert comes back to haunt his former side.

'17: Good link up between Wiktor Makowski and Harvey Walker brings Slough's first shot on target. The diminutive forward cuts inside but his effort is straight at Harness.

'12: Hearts in mouths for Slough fans as the ball is rolled back to Adam Desbois in goal. He hangs on to it for too long and ex-Rebel John Gilbert almost picks his pocket. That would have been disastrous.
