Eid al-Fitr 2025: Hundreds gather in Dedworth to mark end of Ramadan

Hundreds of worshippers celebrated the end of the holy month of Ramadan at an Eid in the Park event in Dedworth.

Nearly 300 people gathered at Dedworth Manor Park on Sunday as part of the Windsor Muslim Association’s Eid al-Fitr celebrations.

The festival marks the end of the Ramadan period where Muslims across the globe fast from dawn until dusk for about a month.

Sunday’s celebrations in Dedworth started with prayers and a sermon before worshippers greeted each other and enjoyed breakfast.

More than 20 different nationalities joined in the festivities.

Mohamed Arif, chairman of the Windsor Muslim Association, said: “In Windsor, we invite all of our faith community and non-faith communities to come together.

“We had a beautiful Eid seeing people together from all different walks of life.”

The Windsor Muslim Association’s search for a new community centre is ongoing and the group remain interested in moving into the Oakbridge Centre and Windsor Day Centre, in Imperial Road.

In 2021, it was announced that the two council-owned centres, which provide support for the elderly and those with disabilities, would be closing.
