In the public notices this week, there are several road closures proposed to make way for the Royal Windsor Triathlon in June. An applicant also seeks permission for mineral extraction in Iver.
Traffic
The Royal Borough proposes to temporarily close various roads and prevent right turns on others on Sunday, June 15 for The Royal Windsor Triathlon.
Starting with a swim in the River Thames, triathletes then ride a bike route that heads through the streets of Windsor, passing the Castle, and out into the surrounding countryside.
To complete their challenge, participants will then run into Windsor Great Park and along the Long Walk.
In order to make sure runners are safe, the council seeks to close the following roads at the following times:
From 5am to 9.15am:
From 5am to 10.30am:
From 5am to noon:
The Royal Borough is also prohibiting right turning of traffic from 5am to 10.45am on:
Planning
Colne Valley Motorway Service Area Ltd is applying for planning permission for mineral extraction at land adjacent To M25, between Junctions 15 & 16 on Iver Heath.
It also wants to create an access to facilitate the development of the Colne Valley Services and associated works proposed under planning application reference PL/20/4332/OA.
This is counted as a ‘major development’ and one which may have significant effects on the environment. It also affects a public right of way and a listed building.
