This week’s public notices see road closures around Maidenhead and changes to a bid for an historic film studios in Bray for new studio space.

Road closures

Spring Hill in Maidenhead is set to close for more than a month in mid-April.

It will come into effect from midnight on Monday April 14 and be lifted on midnight on Sunday June 29.

Closure will mean no vehicle or pedestrian access is available, though the Royal Borough says a diversion will be in place.

This will be via Manor Lane, Shoppenhangers Road, Cox Green Road, Ockwells Road, A404 Bridge, and Kimbers Lane.

The road is in an area where major housing development is taking place and the closure is needed to allow connection works.

Part of Cannon Lane in Maidenhead is also set to be closed in mid April.

Closure will affect the road from its junction with Roxborough Way and its junction with Elizabeth Hawkes Way, overnight on April 14 to April 15.

This is to allow works on a faulty manhole cover to be completed.

Planning

Bray Film Studios in Oakley Green has applied to vary its bid for new stage space.

The filming hotspot, owned by Amazon Studios and once the base for Hammer Films, wants to build new film and TV studio space at its site in Windsor Road.

In this week’s notices, it has applied to change its application to include the temporary addition of two new sound stages.

A covering letter supporting the variation bid said changes were needed to help ‘meet the needs of a significant production at the site’.

Laterly, Bray Studios has been the used to film Amazon Studios’ big-budget TV Lord of the Rings spin-off Rings of Power and globetrotting spy-thriller Citadel.

The application does not advise what the ‘significant production’ is.
