Plans for a refurbishment of a High Street bank feature in this week’s public notices.
Work is planned at the Santander on Maidenhead High Street to give it a face-lift and internal refurbishment.
Proposals include a new shopfront with an automatic door and ramp, two new replacement ATMs, new cladding, signage and an internal TV screen facing the front window.
Nonetheless, proposed works will have a minimum impact on the shopfront, write the applicants, Santander Design Team.
There will also be no change to the internal space or building footprint.
Santander Design Team said the aim of the changes is to ‘satisfy and increase service availability at this branch.’
The proposals involve ‘mostly cosmetic alterations’ to the shop fitting, furniture and finishes.
This is ‘to enable the bank to adapt its offer to changing market conditions and to the new branches concept.’
The new proposed access to the Santander branch is going to be closer to the corner of the building and will be directly off a wide footpath area.
Plans have been submitted to the borough under two different planning applications. See the brunt of these by entering reference 24/02886/FULL into RBWM’s online planning portal.
Also in the public notices this week, Ockwells Manor Ltd plans yet more refurbishment works, as part and parcel of a number of changes to patch up the historic building.
As a listed building, it needs special listed building consent from the Borough for any proposed works.
