Public notices: Road closures for Maidenhead Christmas Lantern Parade

Road closures for Maidenhead Christmas Lantern Parade and plans for 20mph speed limits on ten roads around Maidenhead are in the public notices this week.

Planning

The Royal Borough is looking to implement a 20mph speed limit on roads across Maidenhead. This will be:

  • Australia Avenue, for its entire length,
  • Cordwallis Road for its entire length,
  • Denmark Street for its entire length,
  • Fairford Road for its entire length,
  • Norfolk Park Cottages access for its entire length,
  • Norfolk Road for its entire length,
  • Risborough Road for its entire length,
  • St Lukes Road for its entire length
  • Vicarage Road for its entire length.

The speed limit will also be implemented on Clivemont Road from its junction with Cordwallis Road northwards for 38 metres.

All distances are approximate, and any objections can be emailed to traffic@rbwm.gov.uk by Sunday, November 17.

Copies of the documents detailing the proposals can be inspected at Maidenhead Library between the following hours: Sunday - 11am-2pm, Monday, Tuesday, and Friday, 9:30am-5:30pm, Wednesday 12:30-5:30pm, Thursday 11am-7pm, Saturday 10am-4pm.

Road closures

A crack in the hard shoulder has prompted a temporary closure and reduced speed limit by National Highways next week.

The hard shoulder next to the southbound carriageway of the A404(M) between points 300 metres and 700 metres south of the entry slip road at Junction 9A will be closed for 24 hours.

National Highways has also imposed a 24-hour 50mph speed limit on the southbound carriageway of the A404(M) between a point 350 metres north and a point 1025 metres south of the centreline of the overbridge at Junction 9A.

The Order will come into force on October 25.

Several roads will be closed around the town centre for the return of the Maidenhead Christmas Lantern Parade.

No cars will be allowed from 4pm until 7pm on:

  • Queen Street from its junction with Broadway northwards to its junction with High Street
  • High Street for its entire length St. Mary’s Close for its entire length.
  • St. Ives Road for its entire length.
  • Bridge Street westbound between its junctions with Forlease Road and Bridge Avenue.

No cars will be allowed from 4.30pm until 6.45pm on:

  • King Street from its junction with Broadway to its junction with High Street.
  • Broadway from its junction with King Street to its junction with Park Street.
  • Park Street from its junction with York Road to its junction with Broadway.
  • Nicholson’s Lane at its junction with Frascati Way.
  • Cullern’s Passage for its entire length.
  • High Town Road at its junction with Frascati Way.
  • Albert Street at its junction with Frascati Way.
  • Key’s Place at its junction with Broadway.

The proposed closures are from 4pm to 7pm on Saturday, December 7.

The Royal Borough will close part of Lee Lane in Bisham for one day next month.

No vehicles will be allowed along part of Lee Lane, Bisham from the eastern boundary of ‘Woodside Cottage’ in the south-west direction for 50 metres.

The diversion route for vehicles affected by the Order is via Lee Lane, Pinkneys Drive, A308 Marlow Road and Lee Lane.

The road closure will operate between 8am and 5pm on Thursday, November 14.
