Here are the latest and most significant planning and licensing applications in Windsor and Maidenhead. Find out more by entering their referencing numbers into RBWM's online planning portal

Refused: The council has opted to refuse a change of use of land in Oakley Green to a traveller caravan site.

The plan was on greenbelt land east of Forest Farm and adjacent to Oakley Green Road. Proposals included two mobile homes and two touring caravans, as well as a utility dayroom.

A utility dayroom refers to a small building that provides essential facilities for people living on a caravan site. It can include a kitchen, bathroom, laundry area or dining/sitting area.

Nineteen objection letters were received in response to the plans, including by OGAFCA (Oakley Green, Fifield & District Community Association).

Their concerns were largely around flooding, impact on the greenbelt/nature, and the general suitability of the site.

Known as 'Pond Place', for most of the year 'a large part of this site is underwater,' they said. Other than the pond water, there is no water nor electricity to this site.

“On the neighbouring piece of land, a brief occupation by touring caravans resulted in generators being used night and day which caused severe noise nuisance to the neighbouring properties,” OGAFCA said.

Bray Parish Council was also in favour of refusing this scheme.

RBWM refused the application partly for greenbelt reasons. They also felt there wasn't enough proof the development wouldn't negatively impact the free flow of traffic in the surrounding area.

They also echoed concerns over ecological damage and permanent loss of woodland, and concerns that the risk of flooding would not be adequately mitigated.

Approved: RBWM has given listed building consent for some refurbishment works to the historic Oakley Court Hotel in Water Oakley.

Listed building consent is needed for whenever works are proposed on a site with a listed building or elements - in this case, the manor house, a Grade II listed building.

The hotel plans to refurbish the existing bedrooms, bathrooms, and shared spaces.  Materials used will match the style of the building.

These changes will improve the building’s internal appearance, the applicants say.

If any historic features are uncovered, they will be kept and the council will be informed.

Pending: The Hinds Head Hotel in Bray is seeking to extend its opening hours and open a couple of hours earlier in the morning.

Proposed new opening hours will be from 8am to 12.30am, compared to 10am to 12.30am at the moment.

No other changes are being requested as part of this application.

Put the reference number into this website to view full details and make comments on the application. The last day for representations is Thursday, April 3, 2025.

Pending: RBWM is considering a bid to change the use of a shop into a takeaway.

The plan is to turn Power Domestic Appliances at 20 Dedworth Road in Windsor into a new hot food takeaway.

The application site is currently used as an office on ground and residential flat on first floor.

It is surrounded by residential properties, rather than being part of a parade or commercial area.

There is no parking here and none is proposed.

Commencing: Building work has started at Legoland for a re-fit and internal modifications to the rotunda. (25/00203/FP [Building control]).

Meanwhile, the resort is also awaiting a decision on approval of a replacement of the existing entrance portal (25/00647/FULL).
