People are being urged to take precautions after an incinerator set fire to a garden fence in Prince Andrew Road last night.
Royal Berkshire Fire and Rescue Service (RBFRS) was called to the property at about 9.10pm and put out the blaze.
The crew say the incinerator had been left unsupervised.
Crew manager Mike Lovegrove said: "If you're going to have a bonfire just make sure you keep an eye on it and that you have something to extinguish it."
"It was at the end of the garden but if it was by trees or a garage it could have been a lot worse."
No one was injured.
