A post mortem is set to take place today as part of a murder investigation into the death of a woman near Marlow Bottom.
The investigation was launched by Thames Valley Police yesterday following the discovery of a woman's body at a property in Ragmans Lane.
The woman has been named locally as Albertina 'Tina' Choules, but has not been formally identified. Her next of kin have now been informed.
A 23-year-old man from High Wycombe has been arrested on suspicion of murder and is in police custody.
Police were called to the property just after 6.30am yesterday, where they were confronted by a man who assaulted one of the officers.
The woman was found at the scene and pronounced dead.
Superintendent Ed McLean, commander for High Wycombe local policing area said: “My thoughts are with the victim’s family at this very difficult time.
“I understand the community is in shock and disbelief following this incident, but I want to reassure people that we are conducting a full investigation and that enquiries are continuing.”
