The proposed Furze Platt Triangle Conservation Area has been recommended for approval at the Royal Borough cabinet tonight (Thursday).
The application has been driven by people living in the area between Courthouse Road, Linden Avenue and Furze Platt Road, and the council considers it a good example of the 'Big Society' in action.
During a four-week consultation period, 80 per cent of responses were in support of the scheme and MP Theresa May has also written to the council with her backing.
If approved, additional planning policies will offer more protection will be offered to the special character of the proposed area with immediate effect.
