Several national retailers are showing interest in taking up units in the Nicholsons Centre following the opening of H&M last month, according to mall owners Vixcroft.
The first of these to be announced is Smiggle, the child’s stationery store, which will take a 1,200sq ft unit opposite Carphone Warehouse in the High Street mall on a 10-year lease. It is set to open at the end of July.
Vixcroft chief executive Daniel Carter said the opening of the two-storey, 17,700sq ft H&M store had generated much interest from other retailers and boosted the centre’s footfall.
He said: “This is a massive vote of confidence for the Nicholsons Centre and Maidenhead. In the two weeks since H&M has opened we have seen footfall increase by five per cent and we are keen to continue to attract retailers to the centre.”
