With the aim of doing some good in the town one lady has raised £1,000 by running her first marathon.
Medical information officer Sheetal Fermahan took on the challenge of the Milton Keynes Marathon earlier this month to support Foodshare Maidenhead.
The charity run by Sue Brett is the chosen charity of the year of Sheetal’s employer Sanofi Pasteur MSD based in Bridge Avenue.
Sheetal, who lives in Victoria Street, Slough, said: “This was both physically and mentally challenging but the thought of the fundraising kept me going.
“I didn’t expect to raise so much but everyone has been so generous.
“I hope that I am able to do some volunteering with Foodshare when the company arranges some days to support them.”
Sanofi Pasteur is currently working with Foodshare to work out how it can help the charity further throughout the year.
