Two cousins have been chosen to be the head girls for Furze Platt Senior School and Newlands Girls’ School.
Sophie and Lucy Hurst, both 17, will follow in the footsteps of their fathers, who are twin brothers and were deputy head boys of Desborough College.
Sophie will be head girl at Furze Platt, in Furze Platt Road, and Lucy will be head girl at Newlands, in Farm Road.
Sophie said: “I’m really pleased. I found out just after Easter and Lucy found out last week.”
Lucy added: “We are both really supportive of each other, so it’s really great we will be able to chat about it together and share our experience.
“It’s such a coincidence. We are quite close as well so it will be really great. I was a bit apprehensive but the interview went well and it was great experience.”
