Maidenhead's 'oldest established family-run hotel' could be knocked down and replaced with 14 flats.
A planning application has been submitted to the Royal Borough which asks for permission to knock down Elva Lodge Hotel in Castle Hill and replace it with 12 two-bedroom and two one-bedroom flats.
The 26-room hotel is owned by Cllr Paul Lion (Con, Boyn Hill). Its website says Elva Lodge is ' the oldest established family-run hotel in Maidenhead'.
It is known for displaying quotes and sayings on a chalkboard facing Castle Hill.
The plans would see the existing hotel building demolished and three floors of flats built in its place.
The application's design statement says the hotel has a 'worn' appearance and 'no standout architectural features'.
It adds: "The proposed development with respect to the proposed scale and layout would not detract from the character or appearance of the locality."
A decision is expected from the Royal Borough by Tuesday, January 5.
