A battle to replace the Old Shire Horse Centre with houses will return to the fore on Wednesday when council planners consider the latest application.
New plans for the former animal education centre have been submitted to the Royal Borough by Pegasus Planning Group on the owner's behalf.
They want permission to build six detached homes at the Bath Road site in Littlewick Green, with access via Cherry Garden Lane.
A council report on the application says the new National Planning Policy Framework means the proposal is no longer considered inappropriate development in the greenbelt.
Previous plans for the site have been dismissed over greenbelt issues.
Maidenhead development control panel will discuss it at a meeting at Maidenhead Town Hall at 7pm.
