A double-decker story bus event has been helping children engage with the world at Alwyn Infant School.
The all-day session, organised as part of the Mulberry Walk school’s Around the World week, saw about 300 pupils pass through both levels of the vehicle.
On the top floor, youngsters were treated to a performance based on Lewis Carroll’s classic children’s story, Alice in Wonderland.
And they then headed downstairs, where they entered an imaginary submarine for a tale about a whale.
Kirsty Griaerson, deputy headteacher and year two teacher at the school said: “The day was really fantastic, the children were really inspired by the event and it’s really enthused them and we’ve been able to continue that with writing about different places around the world, which has really helped their overall creative writing skills.”
