Demolition work began at the former East Berkshire College site in Maidenhead yesterday.
Developer Linden Homes Chiltern confirmed the work was underway and likely to last six weeks.
Buildings are being pulled down and ground floor slabs and foundations removed to make way for a new housing estate.
Ground work at the site in Boyn Hill Avenue is expected to start at the end of October.
Planning permission to build 66 homes there was granted, subject to conditions, by the Royal Borough in November.
