A plasterer is fighting his way through treatment for testicular cancer - by imagining the disease is an unwelcome lodger called Roger.
Bill Riddle, 55, said 'well that's Roger gone, now all we have to do is clear it up' following an operation to remove a tumour.
The father-of-three is now due to undergo six months of chemotherapy at the Royal Berkshire Hospital.
Deciding not to wait to lose his hair, he held a charity head shave in aid of Cancer Research UK at his favourite pub The Crauford Arms, in Gringer Hill, on Saturday last week.
Bill, who lived in Harrow Road, Maidenhead, before moving to Windsor on Saturday last week has so far managed to raise more than £1,500.
