Two people from Maidenhead have been arrested on suspicion of money laundering offences following a morning raid by police.
A man, aged 43, and woman, aged 41, were arrested in the early hours of this morning following house raids on two properties in Laggan Road.
Searches of the house have been carried out throughout the morning by plain-clothed officers and a forensic team have been collecting evidence.
A number of unmarked police vehicles were parked on the street.
An eyewitness reported seeing more than 20 armed police officers enter the house at around 5.30am. The street was closed off, with police patrols continuing until about 7am.
Neighbours also reported hearing shouting and screaming in the early hours.
Thames Valley Police have confirmed a warranted raid was carried out on the street, but said police were unarmed and a mixture of uniformed and non-uniformed officers had entered the house.
Police are continuing to search the house and those arrested are still being questioned.
