A fun day in aid of the Boyn Grove community resource centre is set to take place in the Sainsbury's Piazza in Providence Place on Saturday.
The event will kick-off a year of fundraising from Sainsbury's for the Courthouse Road resource centre, which provides support for dementia sufferers and people with learning difficulties. The day will feature a bouncy castle, a tombola, cake stalls and a self-defence demonstration.
The supermarket chain has chosen to support Boyn Grove as part of its commitment to annual charity partnership schemes for local organisations. The store is also set to have collection boxes at its tills and money raised will go towards a wheelchair swing and an audio photo album at the centre.
Cllr Simon Dudley, the Royal Borough's cabinet member for adult and community services, said: "This is a fantastic example of community involvement in a very worthwhile community resource and will be a great boost for our service users at Boyn Grove."
The fun day will take place from 10am-2pm.
