Some of the blue boarding which has surrounded Badnells Pit for five years has been pulled down to reveal part of the new Boulters Meadow development.
The 400-home estate off of Blackamoor Lane, Maidenhead, is expected to be completed by the end of August or the start of September.
Families are expected to start moving into the one and two bedroom flats and three and four bedroom homes around October.
Shanly Homes sales director Nigel Sawers said: "We are extremely proud of the product we are building there and we are currently working hard to ensure the landscaping that goes in over the next couple of weeks is plentiful and attractive."
