Two park-and-ride schemes in Maidenhead for the Olympics were approved at the Town Hall last night.
The temporary car parks at Stafferton Way and Braywick Park will cater for thousands of spectators who will be transported via a bus service to the Olympic and Paralympic rowing events at Dorney Lake.
Former Chamber of Commerce president Cllr Andrew Jenner (Con; Riverside) said: "I whole-heartedly support this. It will bring business to the town. We have a once in a lifetime opportunity and we should grasp it with both hands."
The car parks will be in use from July 27 to August 12 and again from August 31 to September 2.
