A horrified pensioner watched as his daughter's beloved cat was mauled to death by greyhounds.
Franco Lachello, 79, said little Scampi was 'tossed around like a rag doll' while he stood helpless at his front door in Marlborough Road, Maidenhead.
Daughter Lara Lachello, 31, who was given the cat on her 11th birthday, said the family was dismayed.
"My dad had to endure seeing Scampi being mauled to death by the two dogs and not being able to do anything to stop it," said the ex-Altwood School pupil.
"He is distraught. He doesn't know what to do with himself."
The attack was reported to have happened at about noon on Saturday last week.
