Shopkeepers on Gloucester Road in Maidenhead say their trade has been damaged by the recent roadworks on Queensway.
The work saw access to several shops on Gloucester Road blocked on Monday and Tuesday.
Traders say they were not warned about the work and there were no diversion signs available.
Nigel Lu of Vins Chinese said: “We have had around half of the customers we normally have which is bad for a small business.”
Jon Exley, senior highways engineer for the Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead Council, apologised for the inconvenience and said “Sound, pot hole-free roads are in the long-term interests of all concerned.”
