A military medal from the First World War was among the items stolen in a house burglary in Maidenhead on Monday.
The medal for 'Private R.T Roper Royal West Kent' was taken along with a silver-plated cutlery set, cash and a safe, which included jewellery and other personal items.
The house in Camley Park Drive, which belongs to a couple in their eighties was trashed during the messy raid sometime between 11am and 7pm.
The burglars used a shovel to force open an outdoor rear window before smashing a glass internal door.
Police are interested to know if anyone has information regarding the whereabouts of the medal or has been offered it for sale.
Contact Det Con Paul Morath on 101 or call Crimestoppers anonymous on 0800 555 111.
