A Zumba instructor is holding a special class in Maidenhead to raise money for an African village.
Former world champion aerobics instructor Stael Martins, of Blackamoor Lane, will host a Zumba class at St Joseph's Roman Catholic Parish Church, in Cookham Road, on Saturday, May 5.
Stael, 47, is raising money for the church's Lenten Project to help Panyangara parish in northern Uganda.
It has very poor infrastructure, such as hospitals and schools, and there is a great lack of the basic necessities of life due to high levels of poverty.
The Brazilian said: "As a member of the church they asked me to do a class to bring people in to help the project. You always have to do things to help people if you can and it will benefit the community by getting people exercising."
She teaches Zumba, a popular dance-based aerobics class, at the Magnet Leisure Centre, Desborough School, St. Mary's School and Newlands School.
The class at 10.30am costs £5 will all proceeds to the charity. Call Stael on 07905 463145 for tickets.
