A non-profit group which helps further the friendship between the borough and its twin towns has received a cash boost from The Louis Baylis (Maidenhead Advertiser) Charitable Trust.
The Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead twinning committee successfully applied for a grant of £3,500 from the trust, which owns the Advertiser.
It plans to use the money towards a Youth Twin Town Sports event which is due to be held here across the weekend of September 13-16.
David Maskell, honorary treasurer of the committee, said it was 'delighted' to receive the funding.
"It's going to be the first international event after the Olympics and we are looking forward to it greatly," he added.
Of the £76,000 needed to fund the event, about £50,000 has already been raised by the committee.Read more in this week's Advertiser.
