Young rowers showed off their speed and stamina with a 12-hour challenge on Thursday.
Eton Excelsior Rowing Club, based in Maidenhead Road, Windsor, set up three rowing machines in the centre of the Nicholsons Centre in Maidenhead to raise more than £500 for WaterAid and ActionAid.
Fourteen junior club members split into two teams racing against each other in a relay, with the yellow team just winning with 104.28 miles ahead of the blue team with 104.19 miles. All together members rowed a massive 208 miles, equivalent to 312,705 metres.
They all completed at least an hour of rowing, with one athlete continuing for one hour, 23 minutes and 20 seconds. Alfie Horn, 16, thanked the Nicholson Centre, Tesco, WH Smith, Cafe Giardino and everyone who donated.
Shoppers were also encouraged to burn off some Easter calories by taking part in the challenge, with 20 people jumping on the rowing machine to add to the effort.
