A woman has been quizzed by detectives on suspicion of fabricating claims she was robbed in Grenfell Road in Maidenhead.
Police launched a hunt for a mugger after being told by the 45-year-old she had been attacked in the road in the early hours of Sunday, March 25.
Safety advice was also issued for people to follow as the 'attack' came after three confirmed assaults on women in the Grenfell Road area during the last eight months, including an attempted rape.
Officers confirmed last week that a woman had been interviewed on Tuesday, April 3 for wasting police time.
The Crown Prosecution Service will now decide whether there is a case to answer. Police have confirmed they are no longer looking for anyone in connection with the alleged robbery.
