A nurse fighting breast cancer will cycle 350k through India in support of other women battling the illness.
Karen Stevens, 53, will join 80 women on a bumpy ride through rural roads and trails over five days in November - the driest month of the year.
The mother-of-two was diagnosed with cancer in October last year and is halfway through her treatment.
She said she had been 'stunned' by the support she had received so far but was determined to make more than the minimum £2,800 required to join the Women V Cancer challenge in November.
Karen, of College Road, Maidenhead, is hosting a number of events to raise the money, including a family barbecue and disco at Berkshire College of Agriculture on May 18 from 7pm-midnight - with auction prizes including a meal for two at The Waterside Inn, Bray.
Her older sister Aileen Fairweather has also organised a ladies' night in Scotland in April and has even received a £75 donation from the Earl of Strathmore.
