Bag snatcher targeted woman as she caught her breath

Bag snatcher targeted woman as she caught her breath

John Balson

A 26-year-old woman had her bag snatched by a hooded man as she sat on a wall to catch her breath in Maidenhead yesterday.

The thief walked up to her and as she looked away he grabbed the bag, which she had on the ground beside her, and ran off.

The incident happened in Grenfell Road at about 10.10am.

The thief is described as white, with light-ginger hair, freckles, aged between 17-25 and wearing a cream baseball cap, a grey hoody with a small Nike tick logo in the corner, grey jeans with a hint of white, and black trainers with a gold Nike tick logo.

A police spokesman said the black handbag may have been discarded nearby. Police are urging anyone who finds it to handle with care to protect any forensic evidence.
