Advantage Cards cannot currently be used with the new parking system in Maidenhead's Broadway car park.
Pay-as-you-like launched in the multi-story on Monday.
Some drivers have been left confused about whether the Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead discount cards can be used with the new touch screen machines.
The council has now clarified the situation. It has said Advantage Cards cannot be used in the new machines because of issues with the systems security. It hopes to resolve this.
In the meantime discounted rates are available for all drivers for the next few weeks.
The cheaper tariffs will also be available to all borough residents in the longer-term if they register their address and vehicle registration online at www.p-pal.co.uk
You do not need to register your Advantage Card.
The new system has been introduced on the back of the Advertiser's Park and Thrive campaign and offers motorists a choice of ways to pay.
