The body of Andrew Stratford, 20, was found at an address in Moorbridge Road on Sunday, February 12, by police officers.
Headteacher at the Maidenhead Road school, Julian Clauson, said: "Andrew was a quiet, unassuming and friendly boy and he left the school aged 16 in 2008.
"The school would like to express its sympathies to the family for their loss and he will be fondly remembered."
The 20-year-old was also a former air cadet with the 459 Windsor Squadron air training corps.
His commanding officer Flt Lt Dave Middleton, said 'he was a friendly boy and seemed to enjoy it when he was with us'.
A 29-year-old man was arrested at the scene on suspicion of murder, and has been bailed until March 13 pending further enquiries.
An initial post mortem examination proved inconclusive as to the cause of death and an inquest has been opened and adjourned by the Berkshire coroner.
