Police track suspected serial bike thief

Police are continuing to appeal for information as they attempt to track down a suspected serial bike thief.

British Transport Police (BTP) has released several images of the man they believe has stolen bikes from Maidenhead, Twyford, Wokingham and Windsor and Eton Stations between October and February.

A Cannon Dale mountain bike was stolen from Maidenhead Station on Thursday, January 19 and a ‘Gaint hybrid bike was stolen from the same station on October 3 last year.

BTP is linking these incidents with the thefts of a specialised mountain bike from Twyford Station, a silver ‘Trek’ mountain bike from Wokingham Station and a pedal bike from Windsor and Eton Central Station on Wednesday, February 1.

PC Robbie Singh, the investigating officer, said: “We’ve made enquiries into these incidents and, after viewing CCTV, we are now linking them to this man, who was seen at the stations each time a cycle was stolen.

“We’ve followed up numerous leads and circulated the images on police intelligence systems as well as in the local media in a bid to identify this man, but to no avail so far.

“If you think you can name this man, or are the man himself, we want to hear from you.”

Call BTP on 0800 40 50 40 quoting reference B12/LNA of 06/12/2012.
