The fund to replace the Altwood schoolboy memorial has now reached more than £1,000.
People began donating money almost immediately after the bronze statue was stolen from Ray Mead Island in October.
It had been placed there to commemorate Lee Powell, 15, Andrew Watts, 14, Daniel Howton, 14, and Michael Taylor, 13, who died on a trip to the Austrian Alps in 1988.
An official campaign to raise the £7,000 needed to replace the four foot bronze was launched three weeks ago.
The total now stands at just over £1,000.
Donations can be made via Altwood CofE School or by clicking here.
A Maidenhead man has admitted a charge in relation to the theft and is due to be sentenced.
