Olympic rowing hopeful Jack Beaumont from Maidenhead helped launch a new team challenge at Dorney Lake yesterday.
The 18-year-old from St Mark's Road is supporting the Brathay Apprentice Challenge, which will pit eight teams of apprentices from companies including Bentley and Virgin Media against each other.
Teams will battle it out over two months in a bid to be crowned the 'apprentice team of the year'.
Jack, a junior world championship finalist rower and a pupil at Sir William Borlase's Grammar School in Marlow, gave a speech at the event.
