Visitors immersed themselves fully in the eggs-cellent range of activities on offer at the Easter Family Fun Day in Grenfell Park at the weekend, writes Andy McCormick.
Saturday’s event, organised by the Maidenhead Bridge Rotary Club, featured entertainment for all ages – including favourites like hook-a-duck, face painting, bunny mask making and fairground rides.
A cryptic Easter treasure hunt also saw visitors on the hunt for chocolate eggs.
Rotary Club representative Lisa Hunter said the hard work of members had helped make the event so special.
She added: “The success of the Easter Family Fun Day demonstrates the strong community spirit present in Maidenhead, and we look forward to continuing this tradition for years to come.”
Now in its 11th year, the Easter Family Fun Day again attracted a diverse crowd, with an impressive turnout of 700 visitors.
The event raised £1,400 which will be donated to Daisy’s Dream, a charity dedicated to supporting young people and children affected by bereavement.
Adam Hunter, the event organiser, said: “We were thrilled to see so many families enjoying themselves at Grenfell Park.
“The Easter Family Fun Day is our signature event, now in its 11th year, and it’s great to bring the community together for a day of outdoor enjoyment and celebration.”
Organisers thanked Highfield School for Girls, the Louis Baylis Trust, and Berkshire County Trailers for their help making the event a reality. Plans are already in motion for next year’s event.
