Masters in Maidenhead goes under the hammer

A E-sports bar and restaurant in Maidenhead has gone up for sale with its owners appealing for new investors or someone to take on the business permanently.

Masters, in St Ives Road next to York Stream, features a wine bar, a kitchen offering Sri Lankan cuisine, as well as an area for PlayStation and PC gaming.

The venue opened in November 2022, but with two of its co-owners looking to move on the business has been placed on the market.

Satis Vijayendran is co-owner of Masters, along with Vitesh Sakthivel and two other investors – who have decided to move on.

“It’s a shame – me and Vithesh want to keep it but the money the other investors bring is a lifeline,” said Satis.

“Unless we can find new investors to replace them, we have no choice.”

For the two co-owners moving on, one is looking to pursue other businesses and the other looking to move back to Europe.

The online listing puts Masters on the market at £39,000 per year on a renewable 14-year lease.

The price including the lease, as well as fixtures and fittings, is advertised as £200,000.

These include seating available for between 80 and 100 guests, a digital dart game and E-sports gaming rooms.

“It’s quite popular,” said Satis. “We’ve done quite well with sales since opening and it’s only been just over a year – really you need two or three years to build up a business.”

Satis said anyone interested in joining Masters as an investor, or purchasing the business can email contact@mastersmaidenhead.co.uk
