A Porsche driver could be to blame for a crash which crippled Maidenhead's road network on Monday.
A sporty purple Caymon and a green Suzuki Wagon smashed into each other outside the Odeon Cinema in Frascati Way at about 6.50am.
The crash closed the left-hand lane of the road, causing gridlock as far back as Braywick Roundabout as cars continued to flood in from the M4 and A308 Windsor Road.
The man driving the Porsche, which is registered to a Maidenhead owner, has been reported by police for running a red light and careless driving. He had been carrying a woman passenger.
Eyewitness Carla Eaton, 26, from Cookham, said he may have been confused by the lights at the turn-off onto Broadway. She added: "The sound and visual of that crash was horrific. It stayed with me all day to be honest."
