A popular member of Maidenhead Rowing Club who had served as its vice president for more than 30 years has died.
Roy 'Willie' Smith died on Saturday, January 21, aged 87.
The lifelong Maidonian had belonged to the club in River Road since the 1940s.
He had a boat named after him at Maidenhead recognising his years of long and loyal service.
His funeral is set to take place at Slough Crematorium on Tuesday at 11am.
A wake will be held at the rowing club from noon.
