A former MoD analyst was inducted as the new minister of Blenheim Free Church in Maidenhead on Saturday.
Peter Cranch, 31, has moved to the town with his young family to take over the role of pastor at the Blenheim Road church.
Originally from Devon, Peter has recently completed two years of training at the Wales Evangelical School of Theology (WEST).
He wanted to become a scientist when he was growing up and after university worked as a defence analyst for the Ministry of Defence.
The new pastor said: "I feel that this is what I should be doing with my life."
Peter has moved to Oldershaw Mews with his wife Debbie, a nurse, and their two children, Sam, four, and Anna, 18 months.
He added: "We're really enjoying it. Everyone is very friendly and that's really helped us to settle in."
