If you are not out partying this weekend and are looking to take part in a community event, here are a few ideas.
SUNNINGDALE: The Baptist Church will host a lunch and meet event from 1-3pm. For retired people. A simple lunch will be put on along with activities and performance from children and singers. The food is free. Donations will be accepted and given to charity. Call 01344 621886.
MAIDENHEAD: Over 30s’ party for singles and couples – Bird Hills Golf Club, Clubhouse, Drift Road, off Hawthorn Hill (A330), near Maidenhead. Every Friday. From 8.30pm-1am. SLOUGH: St Mary's Church in central Slough continues its series of excellent Saturday Lunchtime Concerts. These begin at noon and last for around 35 minutes. Admission is free, but donations towards the costs and for refreshments will always be appreciated.

MAIDENHEAD: St John's Chamber Orchestra and soloists present their 11th New Year concert at Norden Farm Centre for the Arts in Altwood Road, Maidenhead. The feast of Baroque music includes Handel's The Arrival of the Queen of Sheba, music by Bach and Boyce and concertos by Vivaldi. It starts at 7.30pm and is due to finish at 9.15pm. Tickets are £16. CIPPENHAM: East Berks Ramblers welcome you to join them on the second of their two Festival of Winter Walks. On Sunday enjoy an easy four-mile stroll along the Jubilee River, with a stop in Windsor for a hot chocolate. The walk begins at 10.30am. You are invited to park at the Asda car park in Cippenham. TAPLOW: The annual Cliveden Cross Country Run starts at 10am. It’s a six-mile run organised by Burnham Joggers and has been held for more than 25 years. It was cancelled for the first time in 2009 and 2010 due to weather so organisers are hoping it will go ahead as planned this year. The event is expected to attract about 500 runners with profits being donated to local charities. Visit www.burnhamjoggers.co.uk
SUNNINGHILL: The 16th Sunninghill fancy dress wheelbarrow race starts at the Upper Village Road entrance to the public car park behind St Michael’s School. Noon. In aid of Ascot District Day Centre.
