If your New Year's resolution is to help those less fortunate than yourself then consider volunteering for a family support charity.
Family Friends helps 300 families in the Royal Borough who are facing difficult times. Director Philip Bell said the charity has a team of 50 volunteers but needs more people available in the day time.
He said: "We would particularly welcome new male volunteers as men are under-represented in our cohort of family support volunteers."
Peter added: "We recognise that some volunteers would prefer to help Family Friends in other ways and we are seeking to establish a bank of volunteers who will help with our fund raising activities.
"This could range from helping with planned money collections to organising an event. We’d match the role to the skills and wishes of the individual volunteer."
An induction and ongoing training is provided. Call Philip on 0300 8001005 or email firstname.lastname@example.org to volunteer.
