The sweets were stolen earlier this month
Following a report in last week’s Advertiser that thieves had stolen sweets due to be given out by Maidenhead Round Table during its annual Santa's Sleigh tour, companies and generous residents donated replacements.
Earlier this month, thieves broke into a container used by the Round Table and stole sweets meant for the group’s tour, which visits homes in Maidenhead every Christmas.
The group’s treasurer, Richard Alvey, said the Hand and Foot Studio in Havelock Road had made a donation of sweets, and sweet manufacturer Perfetti Van Melle, which has an office in Berkshire, promised to contribute, as have a number of people around town, meaning the group will have enough to go around.
Richard said: “The messages of support and everything have been absolutely overwhelming.
“It is hard to put into words.”
Paramedics were called to the scene of a medical emergency in Maidenhead on Monday morning (June 27).
