5.) Hare Hatch Sheeplands has 'failed in collaboration with local government'

A bid by supporters of Hare Hatch Sheeplands to have councillors vote on a petition which called on Wokingham Borough Council do ‘everything it can’ to ensure the garden centre remained a ‘financially viable enterprise’ failed.

Instead, an alternative motion, submitted by John Halsall (Con, Remenham, Wargrave and Ruscombe) was passed, which instead called on the management of London Road-based Sheeplands to ensure it operates as a viable enterprise.

4.) Headline act announced for Let's Rock the Moor! 2017

OMD will close the show at next year’s Let’s Rock the Moor! as the band from Merseyside were announced as the festival’s headline act.

Orchestral Manoeuvres in the Dark will join American singer Tiffany, Sister Sledge, Howard Jones, Go West, Matt Bianco, Technotronic and a host of other names on the line-up.

Tributes have been paid to a talented musician who toured the world with his band.

Stuart Edwards, best known as the guitarist from 70s band Edison Lighthouse, died from cancer last month.

2.) 'Petty' thieves take sweets meant for children at Christmas

A community group which raises thousands for charity has hit out after thieves stole tubs of sweets meant for children.

Thieves broke into a container used by Maidenhead Round Table and stole sweets meant for the group’s annual Santa’s Sleigh tour, which visits homes in Maidenhead every Christmas.

A group of travellers moved in to a car park at the Vanwall Business Park.

Caravans were spotted in Vanwall Road on Tuesday morning.
