A controlled explosion was carried out at Desborough College yesterday afternoon.
Officers were called to the school, in Shoppenhangers Road, at 12.04pm following reports a chemical, 2,4-DNP, needed disposing of.
A spokesman said: “They reported that they had a quantity of 2,4-DNP chemical which needed disposing of.
“We called Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) who are responsible for disposing of this chemical.
“The EOD visited the school and safely disposed of the chemical with a controlled explosion. “
“We assisted in this.”
Thames Valley Police tweeted yesterday to say an explosion was carried out but it was 'nothing to worry about'.
