Burger King in the High Street has closed down, leaving another empty shop unit in Maidenhead.
A sign outside says the lease on the premises expired on Saturday.
A spokesman for the fast food chain said: "In the course of normal business, we continuously review our worldwide restaurant portfolio and make strategic decisions based on many factors including development opportunities, market conditions, restaurant profitability, lease length and overall brand presence."
Plans to convert the first and second floors above the shop into four residential flats were approved by Maidenhead development control panel on Monday.
