Commuters will have access to a Sainsbury's Local after plans to build one opposite Maidenhead train station were approved by the council.
The store will join Romans Estate Agents in the space under the Travelodge in King Street following the decision by Maidenhead development control panel on Monday.
A report on the application revealed popular chicken chain Nandos made an offer on the space - originally intended for use as a restaurant - but it was later withdrawn.
Other plans approved at the meeting included:
- Replacement fencing, new pedestrian and vehicle gates and a new shade canopy for the playground at Larchfield Primary School, Bargeman Road
- The demolition of the old GKL House building in Lower Road, Cookham Rise, to be replaced with a block of five flats
