An elderly woman was left 'very shaken' after a burglar broke into a house while she was inside in Windsor Road on Monday.
The 77-year-old victim was inside when the burglar broke in through an open window at about 12.45am and confronted him.
She was pushed and suffered minor injuries, but did not require hospital treatment.
Thames Valley Police has not confirmed whether anything was taken during the break-in.
Det Con Devjeet Hunjan from Maidenhead Local CID said: “The victim in this case has been left very shaken due to the nature of the incident. If you have any information about the incident please contact me via the Thames Valley Police enquiry centre on 101.
“I would like to speak to anyone who noticed anyone acting suspiciously in the area around this time.”

A 30-year-old man from Slough has been arrested on suspicion of burglary with intent to steal in connection with the incident. He has been bailed until October 14.
