MAIDENHEAD: Families are being encouraged to see Star Wars on Saturday evening, but it may be a little on the dark side.

A blockbluster line-up has been announced for this year’s Maidenhead at the Movies and highlights include Zootropolis, Star Wars – The Force Awakens and Inside Out.

The free event, run by Enjoy Maidenhead, will see Kidwells Park turned into an outdoor cinema with stalls and a funfair this weekend.

Mums, dads and children are invited to ‘mogli’ on over to see movies including the Jungle Book, which will be shown from Friday to Sunday.

Four movies will be screened each day, including family favourites and classics such as Grease and Top Gun.

Maidenhead at the Movies is organised and funded by the Maidenhead Town Partnership and has been running annually since 2008.

SLOUGH: A presentation evening is taking place at the Slough and Windsor Railway Society today (Friday).

The event starts at 7.45pm.

Tickets cost £5 for members and £6 for non-members.

HURLEY: Fun for ‘family and friends’ is promised at the 44th Hurley Regatta on Saturday.

Events include a raft race, where competitors build a raft during a lunchbreak and then try to keep afloat as they race to the finish line.

The regatta takes place in Mill Lane from 9.30am, with awards presented to the winning teams from 5.30pm.

Proceeds from this year’s event will go to Braywick Heath Nurseries, in Braywick Road, Maidenhead, which helps people with disabilities or in need of support to find work and training.

PINKNEYS GREEN: Enjoy an afternoon of traditional garden games and live music at the Golden Ball's summer garden party.

Raising money for Alexander Devine's Children Hospice Service, fun is planned for all the family to enjoy, from hoopla and skittles, to live local musicians on stage, a variety of stalls from local businesses, a barbecue and two bars to choose from.

The pub in Golden Ball Lane is hoping to raise as much money as possible for Alexander Devine which it has been supporting since it reopened a year ago.

The party runs from noon to 7pm on Saturday, August 20.

TWYFORD: Family fun and community events will be the order of the day on Saturday.

The Twyford family picnic, which has been organised by the Twyford Parish Council's family picnic sub-committee, will feature an English Civil War interactive show, climbing wall and bouncy castles.

It will take place between 12pm and 4pm at Stanlake Meadow, in Stanlake Lane.

WINDSOR: Don’t miss out on the monthly farmers market in Peascod Street. Enjoy the tastes and smells of international food and drink from Spanish paella to Peruvian wraps to Eton fudge.

It will take place from 10am-5pm tomorrow (Saturday).

ASCOT: The Ascot Farmers’ Market is taking place at Ascot Racecourse on Sunday.

A wide range of fresh produce and plants will be on offer.

Marketgoers can arrive from 9.30am with the market due to be open until 1pm.

It runs from 11.30am to 5.30pm.
